When I was a little girl, I used to hear my Grandmother say "Weaker and Wiser." I never understood what that meant, of course, until I became an adult. Or at least, I have my thoughts regarding the matter, I believe she was saying that the following generations would become weaker-though not in physical strength, I think it meant as a people. Weaker in the sense that we would not understand the true value of hard work and perseverance and that the wealth of a man lies within the sweat of his brow. Weaker as a community, that we would no longer understand the value of a handshake or the sincerety of a promise. As far as the wiser portion, I think she meant that we would hold a vast deal of knowledge and skill that generations before ours would not comprehend. Wiser in the way that business is done through means of technology that is ever changing and always growing. Yet, still weaker because through these means-this great gift of digital knowledge and capabilities, we would lose our ability to truly connect to another human being.
I think my Grandmother was on to something because as I continue to venture into the world of online marketing and internet sales I realize that there is so much out there to consume. So much information online to assist us with expanding our home business that we tend to miss the key elements, trust and people. Without people, no matter what company, you will fail! Without those necessary people skills your business is not going to take you to riches. Weaker and wiser are we as a generation but who will choose to take the stand and break the cycle of insecurity, distrust and mostly bring us out of the hybernation of our computer screens, laptops and smart phones!
Take the stand to show the world that online marketing can be done and great things will be accomplished as long as we continue to remember the one thing that made these opportunities -PEOPLE!
