I was 14 years old when my Mother decided to start her own apprenticeship program. I watched her, books sprawled over the dining room table, study and read-read and study. I remember waking her from the table and putting her in her bed-which also was covered in books-tucking her in and feeling sorry for her because she was working so hard. I would accompany her as she would go from business to business, meeting with CEO's, soliciting signatures as supporters of her venture. I listened to her argue politely with people pushing out their negativity regarding what she was attempting. She was creating something that had never been done before within an industry that people did not consider to be a legitimate trade. She never gave up, she did not let those naysayer's deprive her of her dreams. She knew that if she wanted to survive in a world that is difficult for single parents-she could not settle for a J O B. She refused to live a life being Just Over Broke!
It was then that I discovered the power within myself. It was then, that I knew, that my Mother had been grooming me to become an Entrepreneur since the age of 7. Now, that I am an adult, I find myself faced with similar struggles. But, what I have learned is this, no matter what people on the sidelines may be saying about you behind your back or even to your face it is you that decides your destiny for you and your family. Nothing worth having comes easy! If you can grit your teeth and take a few licks on your way up, I assure you, that when it is all said and done you will be smiling all the way to the bank. You must study and read-read and study your business, learn your competition and discover what you have to offer to your own community. You must walk the streets and solicite strangers to work with you. You must not only trust yourself but trust that what you have to offer is extraordinary and more importantly that it can be done. So get off of the sidelines, get that home based business flowing, start that online company, invest in yourself for a change instead of that pair of shoes! Make a change in your life and the lives of others. Get off of the sidelines and get ready for the finishline!
Much Success to You
